Viking Footwear – a Norwegian icon for outdoor life since 1920. The story of Viking began with the manufacture of rubber galoshes in Askim to protect shoes from dirt and moisture. During the 20th century, the brand grew to include everything from winter shoes and work shoes to football boots and waterproof children's boots. Viking quickly became an important part of Norway's industrial history and a natural player in Nordic family life – from preschools to mountain peaks.
Over the years, Viking has launched several classics, such as the Cherrox® boot, the Retro Trim sneaker and the durable Kadett and Seilas sailing boots. Back in the 90s, Viking was among the first to integrate GORE-TEX into footwear, and has since continued to develop functional models for both adults and children.
Today, Viking stands for much more than just shoes. The company is actively working on sustainability, and has begun important investments in repair services, resale of used products and the phasing out of PFAS chemicals . At the same time, emissions are being reduced throughout the value chain.
After over 100 years, the vision is still the same:
To create a world where everyone can be an explorer – regardless of the weather or terrain.
