The VJ Ultra 3 is a running shoe designed for trail running, ultra running and sky running. It is not a barefoot shoe, but has an incredibly comfortable, foot-shaped design. The multi-zone mesh upper is extremely lightweight, breathable and comfortable. It is made in one piece to provide a flexible feel around the foot.
The shoes feature a soft SuperFOAMance midsole made from a high-tech, ultra-lightweight nitrogen-infused material. It provides exceptional cushioning, high energy return, and a responsive feel with every step. The foam is lighter, more comfortable, and more propulsive than traditional EVA foam, while being durable and less prone to cracking or breaking.
With a stack height of 38/30 mm, the shoe provides generous cushioning and comfort even during really long sessions. Between the midsole and the outsole there is a full-length rock plate that protects the bottom of the foot against sharp rocks, roots and sticks. It also makes the shoe more torsionally stiff and helps reduce energy loss.
The Superior Contact butyl rubber outsole with 4.5mm studs provides secure grip on varying terrain. VJ's innovative Fitlock system locks the foot around the arch for a stable and optimal fit, while protecting the arch from impact while running.
