Material:
Upper: Synthetic and textile, waterproof membrane up to the ankle
Lining: Textile
Outsole: Vibram Arctic Grip rubber sole, Reima's own design providing excellent grip on ice
What we love about these shoes:
Wide toe box
Our warmest shoes, tested to -40 °C
Easy to pull on and adjust with elastic laces
Removable felt insoles with Happy Fit pattern to help choose the right size
Note that these shoes are not barefoot shoes; they have a thick and stiff sole with a small heel elevation. The thick sole does not provide good ground contact, but it is very warm, keeping feet warm even when standing still in the cold for long periods.
Fit and size advice:
Suitable for low to high feet
Fits narrow to normal-width feet - the toe box is wider than in many other Reima shoes (although narrower than some barefoot shoes), but especially the big toe has room to point straight forward

On-the-foot feel:
Laplander is the warmest shoe in our collection – and you can feel it the moment you put your foot in! Iris, age 5, has a wide and high-volume foot. The model fits her foot well, but she feels some tightness around the calf. She happily runs around in them but says they feel heavy on her feet. Laplander is incredibly soft, cozy, and warm on the inside, but it’s important to note that this is not a barefoot shoe – the sole is thick and stiff. There’s generous space around the foot, but for children with wider calves, the shaft might feel too tight.
Greta, 6 years old, is also used to wearing barefoot shoes like Iris, so these feel heavy to her as well. However, she wears them when it’s really cold outside to keep her toes warm – plus, they also work really well as snowboard boots! Greta has feet of normal width and height, and the boots fit her well both on the foot and around the calf.

How to Choose the Right Size
To find the correct size, place your child's heel against a wall and measure from the heel to the tip of the longest toe. Add 1.2–1.7 cm to this measurement to determine the right size based on the chart below.
We have verified these internal shoe measurements at Widetoes, but exact millimeter precision is difficult as shoes have slight flexibility when measured. If you are between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

A well-fitting shoe provides enough space for movement and growth while ensuring a comfortable fit.
