Reima Astelu is a lightweight and comfortable barefoot shoe for children, designed to give the feet plenty of room and support a natural stride.
The wide toe box, zero-drop sole and flexible 4 mm outsole make the shoe ideal for play, movement and everyday adventures. The stretchy and breathable upper provides a flexible, comfortable fit and is well suited to warmer days. The shoes are easy to machine wash and work perfectly as a first pair of barefoot shoes or as airy indoor shoes for preschool, school and after-school activities.

Measure your feet (heel against the wall, to the longest toe). Add 0.5–1.2 cm to allow extra space inside the shoes and follow the size chart. The size chart shows the insole measurements.
Example: Your foot measures 24.9 cm. Choose size 40 (26.0) and you will get 1.1 cm of extra length.

What we like about this shoe:

Fit:

Feel on the foot:
Nike, who has a foot length of 19.9 cm, wide feet and low foot volume, finds that the Reima Astelu fits really well in size 32. The shoe sits securely on the foot without feeling loose anywhere, while still giving her enough space in front of the toes. For her wide but low-volume foot, the fit feels secure, comfortable and well-balanced. She describes the shoe as comfortable and does not want to take it off.
Greta, who has a foot length of 17.4 cm, normal-width feet and normal foot volume, finds that size 29 fits well in length. Compared with Nike, the shoe feels slightly snugger on Greta’s foot, probably because of her somewhat higher foot volume. Thanks to the elastic upper, this is not a problem in use; the toes can still spread naturally, and Greta also finds the shoe comfortable on the foot.
Care instructions:
- Treat the shoes regularly with a protective spray to help protect them from dirt. For example, this one from Collonil.
- The shoes can be machine washed at a maximum of 30 °C. Remove the insoles and laces before washing.
The upper is made from 100% recycled polyester.
