BAAK Pan is a safety shoe from BAAK’s Barefoot series. It features a wide toe box and a zero-drop sole, allowing your feet to move naturally. If you're not used to flat shoes, an extra insole with a 7?mm drop is included to make the transition smoother. The shoes are made from vegan, 100% recycled materials.
BAAK Pan is a breathable shoe, ideal for indoor use and warmer environments. BAAK Phoenix, on the other hand, is more robust and offers better protection against moisture, making it well suited for outdoor use and wet, demanding conditions.
Baak work shoes are classified by the brand itself as barefoot footwear. The sole offers good flexibility but is slightly thicker than that of traditional barefoot shoes in order to meet safety standards. Pan is an excellent choice for those looking for a protective work shoe that delivers both comfort and freedom of movement.

- S1: Aluminium toe cap (Alu-Flex), protects against 200 J impacts and 15 kN compression. Closed heel, antistatic properties, energy absorption in the heel
- P: Penetration-resistant midsole (Baak NeoShield)
- S: Scuff cap – extra abrasion protection at the toe
- FO: Outsole is resistant to fuel and oil
- HRO: Outsole withstands heat up to 300°C (short-term contact) – ideal for welding and hot surfaces
- SR: Slip resistance tested on ceramic tiles with water and detergent
- ESD: Electrostatic discharge protection – safely dissipates static electricity
- Standard: DIN EN ISO 20345:2024
- Certified according to DGUV Rule 112-191 – suitable for orthopedic insoles and modifications

Feel on the foot:
- The BAAK shoes were tested by several people with very different foot shapes, and we were positively surprised that the fit worked well for everyone. The shoes felt comfortable without pinching or feeling loose. Julia, who has a narrow and low-volume foot, found the fit excellent. Heidi, with a higher and wider foot, preferred the BAAK Pegasus over the lower-cut BAAK Phoenix, as the higher shaft provided a better fit around the heel. This highlights a well-thought-out design, with a roomy toe box and good adjustability over the instep, while the shoe still sits close to the foot thanks to the soft inner lining. Victoria, who has a low and medium-width foot, notes that the outsole is slightly thicker than on traditional barefoot shoes, but remains flexible – for example when squatting, the shoe bends naturally with the foot without pressing down from above. If you usually wear barefoot shoes and are looking for a protective or work shoe, this is a very solid choice.
