Altra Lone Peak 9+ is the perfect trail shoe, featuring the improved Vibram® Megagrip outsole and a durable ripstop mesh upper. Please note that Altra shoes run small, so you usually need to take a size larger than normal. To get the right size, do this: Measure your feet from heel to toe (e.g. with your heel against a wall and measure to the longest toe.) This is your foot measurement. Add about 1-1.7 cm extra space to get the right size. Keep in mind that you should have a lot of extra space in running shoes because your feet swell when you get hot during exercise.

How they feel on the foot:
These shoes feel roomy and comfortable! They are the perfect choice for long hikes or runs when your feet need plenty of space to spread out naturally. The shoes also offer generous vertical room, so there is nothing pressing down on the tops of your toes. The materials feel soft against the skin, and around the heel in particular, the shoes are exceptionally soft and comfortable. Lina wears size 37, which is her usual size, and they feel roomy, but one size smaller is too small. So in size 37, the volume feels generous, while the length is just right. If you want to reduce the feeling of your toes moving around too much and prefer a more precise fit, you can add an extra insole to reduce some of the internal volume – or choose the lower-profile Superior model instead. The Wide version of the Lone Peak is even roomier and is a great option for anyone with extra wide or extra high-volume feet!
Care instructions:
- To give your shoes added protection against dirt and moisture, we recommend using a waterproofing spray regularly: Collonil Organic Cover. Brush off the shoes and clean them when needed with a damp cloth before applying the spray.
