Nahkakunta – Finland's leading supplier to the shoemaking and orthopedic industry since 1917. In February 1917, in the midst of political unrest and material shortages, 60 shoemakers gathered in Helsinki to found a cooperative that would ensure the availability of materials and support the future of the shoe industry in Finland. This led to the founding of Jalkineliukkenharjoittäin ösäliike – today's Nahkakunta. In the same year, Finland became independent.
Today, Nahkakunta is the country's leading wholesaler of shoe accessories, with a complete range for both shoemakers and orthopedists. The range includes everything for the manufacture, repair and adjustment of shoes, from well-known industry brands. In addition, Nahkakunta also offers accessories such as belts, wallets, key cases and umbrellas. Through its subsidiary Hansa Leather Oü in Estonia, belts, pet accessories and other leather products are also manufactured - also as private label solutions for other retailers.
Nahkakunta combines tradition and innovation and acts as a flexible, reliable partner with fast deliveries and modern ordering solutions via OVT/EDI, among other things. Small businesses around the country are served both through a nationwide representative network and the digital trading platform NK-KAUPPA .
