Barefoot shoes are best compared to strength training, they help strengthen your muscles. But just like you wouldn’t start your first gym session with four hours of heavy lifting, it’s also not a good idea to wear barefoot shoes for too long at first. Doing so could lead to overuse issues.
You might, for example, feel soreness in the soles of your feet if the muscles are overworked. In such cases, it’s a good idea to alternate between barefoot shoes and regular shoes, then gradually increase your barefoot shoe usage over time.
If you don’t feel any discomfort, you can wear barefoot shoes as you normally would.
