Barefoot shoes can be compared to strength training because they strengthen the muscles. Just like you wouldn’t start your first gym session with four hours of weightlifting, you shouldn’t wear barefoot shoes for too long at once in the beginning, it could lead to overuse problems. For example, you might feel soreness in your soles if the muscles become overloaded. In such cases, you can alternate between barefoot shoes and regular shoes, then gradually increase your use of barefoot shoes. If you don’t feel any discomfort, you can wear barefoot shoes as normal.
